Agios Thomas or St Thomas Beach is located 15 km from Argostoli. It is a small sandy bay surrounded by enchanting lush greenery with beautiful views of the Ionian Sea, Zakynthos Island to the south, as well as Ainos Mountain sloping down into the sea. It is the closest beach to the village of Karavados.
The water is shallow and clean and therefore good for kids. There is a second part of the beach made of rocks, and in the sea there is cave filled with turquoise water. It can also be considered as an alternative spot for sunbathing.
It is not an organized beach with umbrellas, sun beds or a water sport center, but there is shower, a trendy cafe offering refreshing shadow, cold drinks and snacks and a beautiful view over the small bay, while right above the beach, lies a picturesque tavern offering excellent food. There is a reasonably sized car park.
